Eloise Morrison-List

Biography

Eloise Morrison
, Peek-A-Bears Program Director

Eloise Morrison-List is in the middle of an active, exciting life.

Born in Toronto, Canada, in 1974. Eloise's parents separated when she was at a young age, creating incredible challenges for Eloise. Through the experience, the beginnings of a passionate interest in addressing issues relating to children needing care, love and education was born.

After completing high school at Lorretto Abbey - an all girls High School in Toronto - Eloise obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology at York University in Toronto. Her degree focussed on issues relating to the many facets of humanity, including family, children, culture, environment and most importantly, human diversity.

To further her passion for caring for others and her involvement with families and children in need of a support system, Eloise continued her work after completing her Bachelor's Degree. She decided to provide her expertise and services to institutions such as The Big Sisters of Toronto, and took on a part-time job with Tobias House - Independent Living Centre.

She then began her Master's Degree in Social Work, at the University of Buffalo, State University of New York, focussing on health, mental health, family and children. While completing her Master's, Eloise was an intern in the psyciatric department at BryLin Hospital working with children and adolescents. On completion of her Masters, Eloise worked as a Child Protection worker for the Niagara Region Local Children's Aid Society. She was also employed by Catholic Charities of Western New York as a Community Outreach Worker.

Her interest in diversity and humanity motivated her to continue her volunteer work, joining her mother (a prominent social justice activist who sits on the board of a number of not-for-profit organizations), in fundraising efforts for a number of projects, including those initiated by the Nobel Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu. As well, Eloise has been actively involved in a variety of fundraising events in support of the provision of education and healthcare to women and children in South Africa.

Eloise and her husband have been blessed with four wonderful sons - this experience has touched her in many ways. Having children has further fueled her incredible passion to build a caring, educational foundation for children. Eloise is the dedicated owner and program director of Peek-A-Bears Child Care, and is proud to be able to offer parents and children quality child care in a safe and comfortable environment. Peek-A-Bears is a purposeful place where she can implement her knowledge, training and experience in order to provide a warm and caring environment for children to learn and have fun!
